IBM 4400-004, Reliability
Exceptional print quality and performance are inherent to the printer’s thermal print head control technology, producing consistent, precise print density on a variety of media. In addition, the optional bar code validator features “read-after- print” technology to help ensure bar code validity and scannability. Printing bar codes correctly the first time minimizes the cost of penalties or returned products resulting from unreadable bar codes.
IBM 4400-004, Ease of use The IBM 4400 simplifies forms loading and supplies replacement with easy access to internal components. The user-friendly front panel controls and backlite display make it easy to set up andstore customized printer configurations.An optional cutter and tray allows labels to be cut and collected as they are printed providing flexibility to support on-demand printing applications.
IBM 4400-004, Remote management Using the Printer Management Utility and the 4400 internal Ethernet option, multiple printers can be easily managed with an easy-to-use interface.This includes the ability to access a virtual operator panel, configure multiple printers, view current printer status and supplies life, and download software and printer settings from a host computer.
Supplies: A wide range of IBM ribbons that have been specifically engineered to enhance the printing capabilities and to prevent premature printhead wear are available for the IBM 4400 Thermal printers.
It is recommended that genuine IBM thermal ribbons are used in the IBM 4400 printers.
IBM 4400 TTW Thermal Transfer Ribbons
This ribbon provides superior print quality on coated and uncoated thermal transfer paper, labels, and tags. IBM 4400 TTW ribbons are an excellent choice for general-purpose applications.
IBM 4400 TTB Thermal Transfer Ribbons
This ribbon provides excellent high-speed print quality with premium durability and performance on a wide range of thermal transfer paper, and synthetic labels. IBM 4400 TTB ribbons are formulated to provide excellent print quality at the highest print speeds.
IBM 4400 TTR Thermal Transfer Ribbons
This ribbon is designed for use with high-end synthetic labels. It provides the highest heat, chemical and abrasion resistance for label toughness and durability.

IBM 4400 Printer Cleaner Pen
One box of cleaner pens is part number 69G7345. Each box contains 12 pens. The cleaning pen will last for up to eight printhead cleanings. The printhead should be cleaned upon changing ribbon or print media.
