Printek Electronics Fan, FormsPro 4600, FormsPro 4603

The Printek Electronics Fan is a repair part for the FormsPro 4600 and the FormsPro 4603 Wide Carriage Dot Matrix Printers.

The Electronics Fan Replacement Procedure is:

1. Unplug the power cord.
2. Remove the electronics cover and right side cover.
3. Unplug the fan cable from the end of the fan controller that is toward the center of the printer.
4. Unfasten the cable clip and remove the cable tie that fastens the fan cable to the wire bundle.
5. Route the fan cable through the grommet in the side plate.
6. Note the position where the fan cable exits the fan.
7. Remove the two screws, lock washers and nuts that fasten the fan to the side plate. Open the printer case to access the bottom screw.
8. On the new fan, locate the arrow that indicates the air flow direction.
9. Position the fan on the side plate so that the air flow is toward the main logic board and the wires exit as noted in the picture below.
10. Fasten the fan to the side plate.
11. Route the cable through the side plate.
12. Connect the cable to the fan controller and fasten it to the wire bundle.
13. Reinstall the side cover and electronics cover.
