Printek Tractor Shuttle Dog Levers, FormsPro 4603

The Printek Tractor Shuttle Dog Levers are repair parts for the FormsPro 4603 Wide Carriage Dot Matrix Printer.

Procedures for replacing the Shuttle Dog Levers are:

CAUTION: When opening the bag containing the replacement parts, be careful not to lose the two small retaining rings or springs.

1. Using the shuttle position adjustment tool, move the tractors to the rear of the printer.
2. If replacing the levers on the left side of the printer, remove the e-clip on the right hand side of the left tractor, unlock the tractor (green lever on the rear of the tractor) and slide the tractor toward the center of the printer.
3. If replacing the levers on the right side of the printer, unlock the right side tractor and slide it toward the center of the printer.

NOTE: the two springs provided in the kit are wound differently. Be careful to identify the correct new spring that matches the one being removed from each mounting post. Likewise, the two levers are also different in length and must be placed in the proper positions.

1. To replace each lever and spring, carefully remove the retaining ring and slide the lever and spring off the mounting post.
2. Clean the old grease off the post and nearby area, and apply new grease.
3. Identify the new spring that matches the old spring and place it over the post with one end in the hole of the side plate.
4. Place the lever on the post with the spring arm underneath the lever.
5. Install the new retaining ring.
6. Repeat these steps for each lever to be replaced.
